Fixing a hole comenzó  a grabarse en los estudios Regent Sound (Tottenham  Court Road, Londres) en febrero de 1967 y se completó más tarde en Abbey Road. La mezcla se extrajo de la tercera grabación. La compuso  Paul y él la canta. Fue producida por George Martin (el quinto Beatle) que califica este álbum (Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band) como el más innovador, imaginativo e influyente de su tiempo
